雑誌とはその国の特色、流行、好みをあらわしたバロメーターである。

今、現在日本で売られている雑誌に関してとりあえず挙げてみましょう。 特に特徴が出やすいのはファッション雑誌ではないでしょうか？ 年代、対象としている年齢層、はやっているドラマの俳優の服装などいろいろですが、ファッション雑誌には流行の服装というものが載っています。極端な例ですが、親の世代の服装や髪型、化粧をTVなどでみると「ふるっ！」と感じたことはありませんか？

しかし、それは古いのではありません。あなたの今の時代の感覚と違うだけなのです。
その「ふるっ！」という感覚はあなたが、今の時代の情報をもとに作られた感覚を持っているからこそ出てくるのです。例えば、昨今はやりのミニスカート、これは６０年代のアメリカでも流行しているのです。その当時の女性と現代のミニスカートをはく女性の感覚には、きっと共通した部分があるのだと思います。

さらに日本で売っている雑誌を見て見ますと、海外の俳優やスターの情報や 服装なども載っています。それに影響される人も少なくないのではないでしょうか？

このように、日本にいるのにも係わらず、海外の情報が雑誌を通して入ってきます。 そう考えると雑誌の影響力というものはかなり大きいことになります。 影響が、その影響を与えられた国の文化と混ざり合ってその時代の新たな文化になるのかもしれません。
